Phaistos Disk Interpretation

Linear A

Linear B

So after I found this article on the Phaistos Disk and noticed there was a “key” of what each symbol representing in Wikipedia my curiosity pushed me to attempt to understand what the disk was actually saying. This attempt to cipher the glyphs seems very good from wiki so I built on that. Some Archeologist believe that each symbol represents a syllable but according to the key and the general purpose of hieroglyphs, they seem to me to represent a place, person or thing.

I decided to go with that however, some of the symbols from this “key” I see them differently and applying some of the general understandings from Egypt and surrounding areas. I also read the glyphs from left to right within each section or block of text. Writing left to right was traditional in these ancient times. So I’d like to propose the following alternate interpretations of the symbols:

19

20

I am not an archeologist however I love the field, so for the purpose of making myself clear, my guide was the “key” from Wiki and what I know thus far about Egypt and the nature of the Minoan peoples who lived in great joy and beauty. Ultimately this clay tablet is a documentation of how the Minoans lived and built a strong civilization. Again, this was a little project to satisfy my curiosity, but I think there are a lot of pictorial statements here. For instance, the hunter warrior used ships to collect animals for meat. Also their evolution to develop metal tools to help, where did they learn how to craft these metals? Much reference was made to the crown and water which could mean something deeply spiritual.  Also the underworld was depicted much which could also represent death. This disk was dated around 1850 BC and 1600 BC and possibly around 1400 BC. The classic timeline for metals appearing in archeology are;
